The criminal justice system in the USA is flawed. As early as 1928, Judge Sturgess said, “Justice is open to everyone in the same way as the Ritz Hotel.” The quote continues to apply today in 2017. The indigent who are all too often from the poor side of town and minorities with dark skin get what they can afford. The justice system does with them as it pleases.

They intentionally violate the laws and procedures and employ a win at any cost mentality when seeking a conviction. In the end they believe the “end justifies the means.”
It is an understood fact that if a prisoner is sent to death row it is unlikely they will ever have the resources to properly mount an effort to prove his constitutional rights were violated, that key evidence was withheld, or that other blatant procedural misconduct was used to send the accused to death row. They choose poor minorities because they know they will be able to execute them regardless if they are guilty or innocent.
